And we come to the end of another edition of The Wright Challenge! There were 307 competitors, and scores had to be very high in order to succeed! There were some technical difficulties, and then lateness on my part in getting the solutions up and the results tabulated, but here we all are!
There were NO perfect scores this time around! In first place, earning a prize of $60, is Team Spartans from Sheffield! They actually missed a bit from the very first question, but they perservered and won the whole enchilada, so YAY to them! Coming in a close second is Brent P. of Western Dubuque High School, who also kicked butt on last year's challenge as well! Brent will get $40 in the mail and a song in our hearts. There is a tie for third place. We have the awesome Mondamin Fantastic Four of Cassandra E, Kandi H, Alex N, and Lacie W. Good job, gang! And we also have Mrs. Malven's algebra-trig class. Mrs. Malven is no stranger to this contest, and if she ever gets to Cedar Falls Iowa, she will not have to pay for her drinks. Also of note are our runners up: Previous winner Kerrick S, The Algebra Angels, and Sidney High School. Congrats, all!
This semester, a problem was stolen from Andy Liu, and another was from an article sent to Doctor E by Joel Haack. Adrienne Stanley and Doug Shaw supplied the rest, although they were introduced to Jotto by Suzanne Riehl.
Finally - thanks to YOU for participating this semester! We all hope you enjoyed it, and request that if you have any suggestions or feedback, you send them along so we can improve for next time. Yes, I said Next Time!
In January of 2008, come back to this page.
Because you will find something so amazing.
So incredible.
So egotistical.
That it could only be called:
The Wright Challenge XIII:
(for real this time)
